DAF has delivered 44 fully equipped trucks to the municipal utility service of Belgrade, the capital of the Republic of Serbia. The delivery included LF and CF cars with various chassis configurations and superstructures.

Currently, DAF trucks make up half of the fleet of 200 units of equipment of the municipal utility service of Belgrade. The decision to win DAF in yet another tender was based on three arguments: the proven quality of service, the reliability of the trucks and the fact that the municipal utility company Gradska Ćistoća can purchase and service fully equipped trucks, including superstructure, from the local dealer Braca Crnomarkovic.
Garbage trucks
Gradska Ćistoća is responsible not only for all garbage collection in Belgrade, but also for the cleanliness of the streets and ensuring the roads are passable during snowfall. In addition to garbage trucks with side and top loading with a volume of 18 and 22 m3, the order consisted of irrigation and cleaning machines that can be easily converted into snow plows in winter.
The growth of the Serbian capital
“Belgrade continues to expand and its population continues to grow,” comments Marko Popadić, director of Gradska Ćistoća. “Today, the city and its suburbs are home to 1.7 million people. Therefore, the workload is increasing, and we have to work even better and faster. This means that the service provided by the DAF dealer organization and the reliability of the vehicles are crucial for us. The replacement of existing vehicles with new DAF vehicles has helped to increase efficiency, safety and cleanliness.”
A special sense of pride
“We have never received such large orders in Serbia before,” says Richard Zink, DAF board member responsible for marketing and sales. “Together with DAF dealer Braca Crnomarkovic, we delivered vehicles with a full package of services in exact accordance with the wishes of Gradska Ćistoć. Now the fleet of this city utility service has 100 DAF vehicles that keep the streets of Belgrade clean. And we are very proud of it!”.
