WASTE RECYCLING COMPANY RENEWI ORDERS ANOTHER 200 DAF TRUCKS

Leading waste management company Renewi recently received its first vehicles – a batch of 200 DAF trucks for use in the Benelux region. As an international waste recycling company, Renevi aims to further reduce the impact of its activities on the environment by modernizing its fleet. In addition to low cost of ownership, new innovative technologies and long-term partnerships, Renewi chose DAF because of the flexibility of chassis configurations. DAF also delivered 250 trucks to Renewi eighteen months ago.

200 DAF CF trucks from the new order will be delivered to the Dutch and Belgian branches of Renewi. The order includes 193 chassis with various superstructures. A large number of chassis are equipped with a rear loading hopper and compaction system, but the order also includes chassis equipped with a skip loader or a system with a hook crane for emptying underground containers located directly behind the cab. The last of the described trucks is equipped with a 10-ton front axle, which provides additional carrying capacity. Completing the order is a batch of 7 CF tractors to be used in the Benelux countries with dump trailers and moving floor trailers for waste transport.

Long-term partnership

Renewi and DAF have relied on each other’s expertise for many years. Renewi provides DAF with green waste sorting services, and the company’s fleet of 2,400 waste disposal vehicles consists mainly of DAF trucks. Managing Director of Renewi Commercial Waste in the Netherlands, Meinderjan Botman: “As a company, we believe it is very important to minimize the size of our own ‘impact on the environment’. DAF trucks support us in our pursuit of maximum emission reduction.”
