An individual solution for any field of application
DAF is expanding its range of vehicles by adding a series of special chassis for transporting cars. They feature a low chassis height and are available in XD, XF, XG and XG+ variants. The additional option of choosing models with a lowered or sloping roof allows you to place cars above the cabin.
DAF used all available technical solutions to lower the new rigid chassis for car transport as much as possible, ensuring maximum use of space within the legal vehicle height of 4 metres. Models with a low platform became the basis of the series. Lowering the suspension by 4 cm and using 22.5-inch wheels with low-profile tires allowed a chassis height of only 83 cm.
Low or sloping roof
The chassis line for transporting cars begins with models in which cars are loaded behind the cab. They are available in all cab variants of the new DAF generation: XD, XF, XG and XG+. The XD version also includes models with a low (18 cm) or sloping roof, which allows cars to be placed above the cab. Because the XD cab is already low on the chassis, it has plenty of space for the driver to work, rest and sleep comfortably, including a full-size bed.
Car chassis are available with a wide selection of wheelbases. In addition to the 4×2 models, the range also includes 6×2 versions for additional load capacity. They feature a lightweight 4.5-ton front axle and 17.5-inch wheels.
Maximum efficiency
The new chassis for transporting cars, of course, has all the innovations aimed at achieving maximum efficiency, which was presented by DAF in the spring for the new generation of its trucks. Among them is the improvement of the power line with the PACCAR MX-11 and MX-13 engines, which allows you to use every drop of fuel as efficiently as possible. The Predictive Cruise Control system is included as standard in order to achieve the highest fuel efficiency and the lowest CO₂ emissions. DAF’s new car transporters also feature a large front windshield, low window sill lines and unique cameras (DAF Digital Vision System and DAF Corner View) to ensure the highest level of safety – especially important for deliveries in urban environments.
