Less than a month after the official launch, DAF received more than 1,000 customer orders for the new generation XF, XG and XG+ trucks. A completely new series of vehicles for international transportation will go into production in October and will set new standards for efficiency, safety and driver comfort.
On Wednesday, June 9, DAF presented the new generation of XF, XG and XG +, the first trucks on the market to take full advantage of the new European norms regarding weight and dimensions. These lightweight truck cabs will be longer to achieve the next levels of efficiency, safety and driver comfort.
Features such as the optimum radius, tapered cockpit design, curved windscreen and 16cm front extension have resulted in industry-leading aerodynamics. This contributes to an impressive improvement in fuel efficiency of up to 10%, with a corresponding reduction in CO2 emissions. Unsurpassed safety is achieved with extremely low window lines and a curb-view window for an excellent direct view, as well as features such as the new DAF Digital Vision System and DAF Corner View. The swivel seat, fully digital instrument panel, comfortable bed and cabin lighting, not to mention the extraordinary interior space (12.5 m3 for the XG +), all this ensures unsurpassed driver comfort.
In addition, the new generation DAF represents a completely new platform ready for the alternative battery electric and hydrogen powertrains currently under development at DAF.
“Never in our more than 90-year history has the milestone of more than 1,000 orders been reached so quickly after an official launch,” said Richard Zink, Director of Marketing and Sales and Member of the Board of Directors of DAF Trucks. It shows that we have started the future by creating a series of revolutionary trucks that are truly game-changers in terms of efficiency, safety and driver comfort.”
