The leading European transport company Girteka Logistics ordered 500 DAF XF vehicles for international transportation of complete cargo. “Having highly appreciated DAF’s exceptional reliability, safety and fuel efficiency, we have decided to expand and add 500 XF vehicles to our fleet. Most of them will be put into service from July to October 2018,” comments Mindaugas Raila, President of Girteka Logistics. “These new DAF trucks are part of our plan to further expand our business in Europe.”

A decision based on market research
“The decision in favor of the top DAF XF models was made based on the results of a comprehensive market study,” adds Mindaugas Ryla. “In order to maintain our position among the elite freight carriers, we need a premium product with minimal operating costs and, in addition, minimal fuel consumption. Girteka Logistics is also committed to taking care of the environment. DAF exceeded all our expectations in terms of CO2 emissions by releasing the new XF line – a new benchmark for fuel economy. At the same time, we want to ensure maximum comfort for our drivers, which is why we chose the XF versions with the luxurious Space Cab and Super Space Cab.”
Maximum fuel efficiency
500 DAF XF Girteka Logistics vehicles will be equipped with the PACCAR MX-13 12.9 l engine (365 kW / 480 hp 2500 Nm already at 900 rpm) and the new TraXon automatic transmission. These trucks are equipped with the latest on-board systems such as predictive cruise control, predictive gear shifting, lane departure warning, AEBS and forward collision warning. DAF Driver Performance Assistant, as well as the advanced DAF Eco Roll system, will help the driver to achieve minimum fuel consumption. In order to maximize the period of continuous operation, Girteka Logistics has chosen a complete set with service intervals of up to 200,000 km.
